This month, we want to feature one who is celebrating her 40th work anniversary!
Lynn Laga Loeper, administrative assistant for surgical services at Appleton Medical Center, has been with ThedaCare her entire career and has deep family ties to the organization.
“Lynn is an amazing team member and a pure example of our promises,” said Lisa Reed, manager of surgical patient care at AMC.
Loeper’s mother, Lavern Laga, was a nurse at AMC when it first opened. After she retired, Laga continued to volunteer at the hospital and even passed away there. Loeper’s daughters, Charge Leader/Payroll Extender Cori Arizola and ICU Telemetry Technician Michelle Wales, are carrying on their family tradition of working at AMC.
“I love seeing my daughters’ faces in the halls,” said Loeper. “ThedaCare is like my second home.”
After working at ThedaCare for four decades, Loeper has witnessed a lot of changes.
“There always will be change. Usually it’s a bit scary and sometimes annoying at first, but if you stick with it, it all works out in the end,” she said. “I truly believe this is a company with possibilities.”
Loeper’s daughters have learned a lot from their mom while working at AMC.
“She takes change in stride, and always seems to enjoy her job and the people with whom she has worked,” said Arizola. “She is helpful and knowledgeable beyond her role. I always try to be as friendly as she is.”
“I am so proud. She’s handled every single moment of her 40 years with grace,” said Wales. “I’ve learned a lot from how my mom takes care of patients. She is always ready to do anything that anybody asks of her, and she does it with a smile.”
