Lifestyle changes can make a dramatic impact when it comes to managing diabetes. The return of “Pre-diabetes and Diabetes: Healthy changes work for both” will highlight how lifestyle changes can prevent diabetes from occurring as well as help to treat diabetes.

“People realize the importance of lifestyle changes for overall health improvement,” said Marci Reynolds, RN, CDE and supervisor of health and wellness at Riverside Medical Center. “It is amazing how just making little changes can make a significant impact.”

The free class will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., March 7 in the Health and Wellness Department in the 900 Building at RMC.

During the program, a certified diabetes educator will give an overview of pre-diabetes, diabetes, and how healthy changes can work for both. For instance, those with pre-diabetes can learn how to make changes that can help turn numbers around. And those with diabetes can learn how diet and exercise can help them manage the disease.

“Our goal is to equip people with the tools they need to take charge of their health,” said Reynolds.
