Brian Sterns Named Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Froedtert ThedaCare Health

Froedtert ThedaCare Health leaders have announced Brian Sterns as senior vice president and chief information officer for the organization.

In this position, Sterns will lead Froedtert ThedaCare Health’s ongoing commitment to promote the strategic use of information systems that support the mission and vision of the organization. He is responsible for anticipating future information technology needs to optimize the health care experience for patients and families, and team members.

Most recently, Sterns served as chief digital health officer for the North Region of Froedtert ThedaCare Health, while also assuming interim leadership of the South Region Information Technology team. To align with FTCH’s dedication to Population Health, Sterns has been progressed toward creating a positive, sustainable model to improve health outcomes and the experience of care, while helping lower the total cost of care.

And, most importantly, he puts patients and families first, enhancing their experience.”

Sterns joined ThedaCare in 2017 as chief of staff, and later extended his role to include vice president of Corporate Administration, as well as leadership for Dietary, Environmental Services, Facilities, and Safety Services and Security. In those roles, he brought together functional leadership and worked to align these areas to optimize effectiveness and efficiency. He also led ThedaCare’s COVID Incident Command team to ensure ThedaCare planned and prepared to provide all levels of care, while keeping teams and communities safe.

Before joining ThedaCare, Sterns held several roles with health systems in the Midwest, including IT relationship executive, IT controller and manager of the Project Office. He also was an adjunct professor at Mercy College of Ohio, and a certified public accountant and certified information systems auditor at Ernst and Young. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo and an MBA from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Sterns role as senior vice president and chief information officer for Froedtert ThedaCare Health begins immediately.
