Annual Event Benefits ThedaCare Family of Foundations

Armed with nothing but their sharp wit, comedians Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood will take the stage at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on Fri., March 6, to raise funds for the ThedaCare Family of Foundations.

Their performance headlines the annual Laughter is the Best Medicine fundraiser for the Foundations, which will raise funds for the new $44 million regional cancer center near Encircle Health on Capitol Drive in Appleton. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show range in price from $28.50 to $48.50 and can be purchased in person at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center or through Ticketmaster starting Dec. 8. The Boldt Co. is the presenting sponsor for Laughter is the Best Medicine.

Known by TV audiences for their work on “Whose Line is it Anyway?,” Mochrie and Sherwood improvise new material every night from audience suggestions and participation. The show is very interactive – just like a live version of their hit show.

“Laughter is the Best Medicine is a great fundraiser since it reminds people that having a good laugh can improve their overall health,” said Laurie Ackell, chairperson of Laughter is the Best Medicine. “The funds from this event will go to the new cancer center and other cancer services. Cancer isn’t a fun topic to talk about so having an event where we focus on laughter is definitely something different.”
