Galatowitsch One of Five Community Members Join Organization’s Board

Princeton attorney Kristin Galatowitsch is looking forward to her new role serving on the ThedaCare Board of Trustees. She is one of five new community members from the region selected to serve on the board, which serves as the governing body for the community-owned healthcare organization.

Galatowitsch has been chair of Community Health Network’s Board of Directors for the past three years and seeks to be a bridge to ThedaCare since the two health systems affiliated last year.

“I believe that my history with the CHN board will benefit the ThedaCare board by providing a perspective from a critical care hospital and rural health network that serves a very diverse population both economically and socially,” she said. “I also think my experience as a woman, wife, mother of two and business owner offer another frame of reference about health care decision making from a consumer perspective.”

Now that CHN, as well as nearby Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital, are part of ThedaCare, area residents have expanded access to specialists and improved technology that will only enhance patient care, Galatowitsch said.

“By being a member of the board, I believe my participation will not only include a voice for CHN in the overall direction of ThedaCare, but a view for ThedaCare from another spoke in their healthcare wheel,” she said.

In addition to Galatowitsch, the other new board members include Tim Bergstrom of Bergstrom Automotive; Mark Burstein of Lawrence University; Jim Kotek of the Menasha Corporation; and Terry Timm of Thrivent Financial.

The new board members join Patrick Brennan, MD, of Surgical Associates of Neenah; Beth Dalley Ullem; John Davis of Great Northern Corporation; Gary Edelman, MD, of ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca; Dean Gruner, MD, CEO and president of ThedaCare; Paul Klister of Commercial Horizons; Jim Larson, community member from Waupaca; Jim Meyer of BMO Harris in Shawano; Doug Moard, MD, of ThedaCare Physicians-Kimberly; Jon Stellmacher, retired executive with Thrivent Financial; Norma Turk, MD, of Appleton Medical Center; Cyril Walsh, MD, of Appleton Medical Center; and Jeffrey Whiteside, MD, of Fox Valley Pulmonary Medicine.

Stellmacher serves as board chairman while Dr. Whiteside is board secretary.
