GRANTS AWARDED TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
Supported by the ThedaCare Medical Center-New London Endowment Fund
NEW LONDON, Wis. – Four local organizations were recently awarded $20,000 in grants from the ThedaCare Medical Center-New London Endowment Fund.
The grant program is dedicated to supporting and enhancing community health, healthcare outreach, education, patient care, rehabilitation and wellness services that contribute to a better quality of life for those living in the area.
“The organizations provide many different services in the community,” said Scott Bleck, President of ThedaCare Medical Center-New London board of directors. “It’s important that we support the efforts, making the New London area a better place to live and work.”
The four grant recipients are:
- Clintonville Public School District
- Harbor House Domestic Abuse Program
- Mission of Hope House
- New London Area First Responder Program

The superintendent of the Clintonville Public School District explained they will be using a portion of their grant to advance the Little Trucks Playgroup program. The Little Trucks Playgroup is an opportunity for children ages birth to four to spend time playing with other children in a developmentally appropriate environment. Parents also have the chance to network with others.

Harbor House provides awareness and prevention of domestic abuse in Outagamie and Calumet Counties. This grant will help Harbor House with domestic violence prevention in high schools, to help students understand kindness and healthy relationships.

The Mission of Hope House of WI, Inc. provides temporary emergency and crisis housing for men, women and families. They provide refuge, education and resources. Leaders say they want to empower people to develop their own strengths.

New London Area First Responders is a group of volunteers, who are state-licensed first responders. They respond to emergencies throughout the service area at no cost to the patient. Leaders with the group say they will use the grant money for pagers, radios and other equipment.
To be considered for funding, the applicant must be a 501c3 and the project should serve an identified and proven health need in the communities served by the New London hospital. The project may involve collaborative efforts with other community providers and organizations. In addition, there must be a justified cost with defined measurable outcomes.
