Expanding ACCESS to Wound Care to Improve Quality

In October, we expanded access to Wound Care with the addition of two (2) Wound Care Practitioners, Sarah Holets, DO, Associate Medical Director, and Morgan Koffke, APNP. Currently they are covering ThedaCare Neenah and ThedaCare Appleton.

For critical access locations, the plan is to have the provider from the Hospital Outpatient Provider Department (HOPD) also serve the inpatient wound care needs as needed. This is presently occurring at ThedaCare New London and ThedaCare Waupaca and in process for ThedaCare Berlin and ThedaCare Shawano.

Proper wound care prevents infection and other complications as well as helps speed up the healing process resulting in a reduced length of stay, readmissions and Emergency Department utilization.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Dr. Holets @Sarah Holets or the Director of Wound Care, Amanda Neubauer, @Amanda Neubauer.
