Last updated: February 6, 2024

ThedaCare is thrilled to introduce our newest providers. Here, we learn what inspires them to improve the health and well-being of our patients, and empower them to live their unique, best lives.

Cara Benner, APRN, BSN

Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine, ThedaCare Physicians-New London

“I treat patients as individuals and develop specific health care plans unique to them. I enjoy the diversity of acute and chronic conditions because it provides a broader range of clinical experiences and challenges.

“It is rewarding to help patients progress and reach their health care goals. I continually look for alternative treatment options, new medicines, and procedures that best fit their needs. I’ve come to understand that life is too short, motivating me to fully embrace it. This is why I’ve chosen this path — to make the most of my abilities and contribute to the well-being of others.”

Kevin Gentile, MD

Pediatrician, ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca

“I see pediatric care as a collaborative effort involving both parents and children. My commitment is to ensure that every concern is acknowledged and that my patients are involved in their plan of care.

“Building relationships with families throughout the years as children grow is what makes pediatrics truly unique. I consider active listening as my primary focus, recognizing it as a vital aspect of my role in providing personalized care.”

Wendy Hill, MD

Pediatrician, ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca

“I believe in providing care that is centered on the family and based on evidence by ensuring parents receive the knowledge they need to make decisions about their child’s health.

“I was drawn to pediatrics because I love children and have a passion for forming meaningful relationships. Over a decade of my career was spent as a medical director and hospitalist, specializing in the care of infants and children. I have a strong interest in youth growth and development, actively guiding both children and parents through various stages of the developmental journey.”

Emily Olson, MD

Pediatrician, ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca

“As a pediatrician, I enjoy working with children every day and ensuring their well-being is prioritized at every step of their health care journey.”

Samantha Raboin, LPC

Mental Health Clinician, ThedaCare Behavioral Health

“Providing an empathetic, genuine, and authentic approach to care, I tailor treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient. I value honesty and trust from my patients as we collaborate to foster mutual growth.”

Brittany Vanden Heuvel, CPNP, RN, MSN

Nurse Practitioner, Pediatrics, ThedaCare Physicians-Oshkosh

“I feel it’s important to work together with parents in the care of their children. Parents know their children best, and I take the time to educate families to help ease any worries or concerns. I also try to make the experience of going to the doctor’s office as fun and enjoyable as possible.

“I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families. I have the privilege of offering comprehensive health care services to a diverse spectrum of individuals, ranging from newborns to young adults.”

William Whisler, MS, BS

Genetic Counselor, ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center-Appleton

“My approach to care is centered on the patient’s needs, recognizing that every visit is personal and unique. Ordering genetic testing can be confusing and complicated, so my goal is to make sure each patient feels empowered in their decision-making.

“The opportunity to learn something new every day is exciting, especially in the rapidly advancing field of genetics. I am constantly learning from both patients and co-workers, and it is instrumental in my personal and professional growth as a health care provider.”
