MaKayla Alexander, PAC

Emergency Medicine, ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca

“I enjoy emergency medicine because it is a unique specialty — especially when working in a rural setting. I like the fast-paced environment, problem-solving with my team and treating patients with a variety of illnesses and conditions.

“Having a passion for rural medicine, I make it a priority to effectively communicate with my team and patients. It’s important to connect with patients, to understand what’s important to them, and to offer any additional services they might need.”

Ashley Bartha, LPC

Professional Counselor Training License, Mental Health Clinician, ThedaCare Behavioral Health

“I take a person-centered approach to care by meeting my patients where they are and offering a strengths-based, holistic approach to care and wellness. While I work with adults of all ages, I particularly enjoy working with young adults, the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals on the autism spectrum. My special interests include anxiety, depression, ADHD, career and life changes, feminist theories and women’s issues, sexual health, couples counseling, and personal relationships.”

Lindsay Morgan, APRN, RN, MSN

Family Medicine, The Heritage

“Helping seniors navigate their way through a complex health care system and working to maintain or improve their overall health gives me the most joy in my career. My health care approach is to offer patient-centered care. I want to ensure seniors have a voice in their plan of care, while also honoring their values, beliefs and preferences.”

Shari Van Straten, FNP

Sports Medicine, ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain

“I listen carefully to my patients’ concerns and, together, formulate a plan of care that they feel comfortable with and that achieves optimal results. My approach to patient care is to help patients overcome their orthopedic injuries quickly. I enjoy seeing them get back to resuming everyday activities and leading an active lifestyle.

“I have over 20 years of orthopedic experience as both a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. I also have a background in osteoporosis, treating patients with bone disease.”
