Pickleball Shoe Tips

@thedacareofficial Pickleball has become America's fastest-growing sport! No wonder our Orthopedics Care team is seeing more pickleball injuries than ever before. Here are tips from Dr. Michal Kozanek, Orthopedic Surgeon at ThedaCare, to help you avoid injuries and enjoy the sport more: 1. Wear good shoes. You are looking for shoes with good tread, ankle and sole support. Make sure your shoes are tied well. If the tread is gone, it's time to replace your shoes. Resist the urge to pick up your paddle and play a quick pickleball game in your sandals or casual shoes. 2. Warm up before you play. Spend a few minutes stretching to avoid injury. 3. If you've had a previous ankle injury wear a lace-up brace when you play. Pickleball is a high-energy sport. Make sure you have the right equipment, including water, sunscreen and proper footwear. If you do have an injury while playing pickleball or any other sport, walk-in or schedule an appointment at ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain in Appleton, open 7 days per week. #pickleball #pickleballtiktok #pickleballshoes #pickleballislife #safetyfirst ♬ original sound – ThedaCare
