ThedaCare’s investment in a full-service orthopedic medical center was intentional – to be present to all patients who need us, in all the ways they need us.

When you visit the new ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain, one of the main reception desks features a sign that reads, “Hospital Check-In.” That’s because we are indeed a full medical center — a hospital, not a surgery center.

Most patients who have surgery go home the same day, even after spine surgery or total joint replacement. Some patients, however, may need an inpatient stay following their procedure. That may include those with complex medical cases, people who might not have the support they need at home, or those whose procedures uncover questions or concerns.

For those who need to stay overnight following their procedure, ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain offers a full-service hospital with 25 inpatient beds. That differentiates us from orthopedic surgery centers, which only offer outpatient care.

ThedaCare’s investment in a full-service orthopedic medical center was intentional — to be present to all patients who need us, in all the ways they need us.

Whether someone goes home on the same day after their procedure or stays in the hospital overnight, we have their needs covered. The center’s simulation living space allows patients to prepare for a return to home life. Our Meds to Beds service through our onsite pharmacy sets up patients with all the prescriptions they’ll need prior to departure. We even offer freezer meals to go so that people don’t have to worry about cooking while they’re recovering.

Our new medical center is designed as a welcoming space for every patient. For example, our surgery prep area and recovery area are integrated into the same space so we can see individuals at each stage of their journey to wellness. As surgeons, we can also watch patients working with their therapists after surgery, and not only check in with our therapists, but also chat with our patients.

We are here to meet the needs of each patient and are committed to helping every individual live their unique, best life.
