What is Wild Rose Hospital?
Most physicians from other hospitals in the Theda System have clearly never been to Wild Rose so I thought I would give a little background. The hospital is located an hour West of Neenah and 45 minutes SE of Stevens Point. It is a 15 bed facility staffed 24/7 by inhouse board certified physicians that not only serve as the Hospitalist but also run the Emergency Room. On a typical day there are 10 patients in the hospital and the ER will see around 15 patients. Unfortunately, the hospital currently has consulting services. At night the hospital is staffed by two nurses, a unit clerk, a lab tech, an X-ray Tech, and the physician. The lack of staff does lead to some interesting nights at work especially with the COVID Crisis. The Hospital is run by are fearless leader, Tammy Bending, who does an unbelievable job. Almost all the employees that work here are part of our local community. On a personal note, I was born and raised in Wild Rose and after practicing Emergency Medicine all over the world for the US Army I feel privileged to return and practice where I grew up. – Chandler Caves
