What is changing?
An Admit Order (patient status) is required before you can place other orders when patient is admitted.
This is a hard stop. You can add an admit order within your signing session without starting over.

An admission order represents the intent of the physician for the care a patient should receive based on clinical necessity. The order represents the physician’s intentions in Epic or the Electronic Health Record (EHR), which drives workflow for several teams supporting the physician and clinical practices, concurrently during a patient’s stay. Incorrect classifications and duplicate orders can lead to billing errors, poor patient experiences, producing “waste” and “defects” which impact ThedaCare, the patients we serve, and our communities. There are direct financial implications to lost revenue, utilization, and waste.
