The Future Outpatient tab gives a more streamlined experience than discharge order reconciliation (in the discharge navigator) when placing future outpatient orders for currently admitted patients. With the Future Outpatient tab, physicians don’t have to remove a discharge order to keep the patient admitted. Discharge Order reconciliation will still be needed when the patient is ready to be discharged.
