Last updated: September 6, 2022

ThedaCare is thrilled to introduce our newest providers and learn what inspires them to improve the health and well-being of our patients and empower them to live their unique, best lives.

Theresa Chinnery, Ph.D.

Psychology, ThedaCare Behavioral Health-Menasha

“I appreciate the opportunity to connect with a culturally diverse patient population and provide them with the best care in my field of neuropsychology. I am passionate about understanding my patients’ concerns and feel that each individual deserves to be treated with respect, consideration and compassion.

“My approach to care is holistic, considering the whole person within the neuropsychological assessment process. I listen carefully and provide the diagnosis, treatment options, and recommendations and resources that are meaningful for each patient.”

Amanda Hoffman, P.A.

PA-C, Orthopedic Surgery, ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain

“Building meaningful relationships with patients and their families is the best part of my job. I am honored to help provide and expand access to quality health care in a timely manner.

“Developing connections with patients in my home community is particularly rewarding, and my privilege. I was specifically drawn to orthopedics to help patients get back to their everyday physical activities and help them improve their overall health. I strive to provide individualized care, while meeting my patients where they are in their journey.”

Angela Hussong, P.A.C.

PA-C Family Medicine, ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca

“I am passionate about family medicine because I enjoy being able to provide health care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. I treat patients as I would want any of my family and loved ones to be treated, and I look at issues from the patient’s perspective to allow me to provide the best medical care possible. Making important healthy lifestyle choices starts with a foundation for one’s health.”

James MacNeal, D.O., M.P.H.

Emergency Medicine, ThedaCare Medical Center-New London

“Emergency medicine is a challenging field, and it is a great feeling to quickly earn a patient’s trust and care for them like family.

“I appreciate teamwork and the integration of high-quality medical care we provide in the hospital. Working as an effective overall medical team, we have our best possibility of saving and improving lives.”

Mac Weninger, M.D.

Physical Medicine/Rehab, ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain

“I believe in educating patients about the potential causes of their pain or dysfunction. Working with them to make an appropriate treatment plan and seeing them return to greater mobility is rewarding.

“Physical medicine and rehabilitation are the perfect fit for me because I enjoy problem-solving. This line of patient care focuses on the connection between the brain, spine, spinal cord and the musculoskeletal system. My primary interest is the musculoskeletal system and using ultrasound-guided procedures to aid in recovery.”

Laura Paske, A.A.

Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, ThedaCare Behavioral Health, Menasha

“I truly enjoy working with people from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultures. Addiction does not discriminate despite anyone’s socioeconomic status.

“It’s important to me to provide patient-centered care, where patients focus on their personal goals for growth and development. My interests and specialties include multicultural counseling, cognitive behavioral therapies for substance abuse and mindfulness techniques to manage stress.”

Christopher Weirtz, D.O.

Pediatrics, ThedaCare Physicians Pediatrics-Appleton

“I was drawn to pediatrics in medical school when I saw how children made work fun and exciting. I knew I wanted to be around that energy every day. Children are candid in how they speak and show their emotions. When a child is happy, they are running all over the exam room, and when they don’t feel well you can easily see that too.

“Each day brings something different for me. I believe in working in partnership with parents and children to have better well child visit experiences, ensuring everyone feels heard and has a voice in the care plan. I want to hear every concern, no matter how small. Seeing a child’s progress and achievements is so rewarding.”
